Assiniboine Community College Student Wins Gold Medal at the World Skills Americas Competition!

Congratulations to Brittney Ross, a 2012 Hotel and Restaurant Graduate from Assiniboine Community College who won GOLD at this year’s World Skills Americas Competition in the Restaurant Services category!

Brittney represented Manitoba in the 2012 Skills Canada National Competition in May in Edmonton, Alberta and was awarded the bronze medal.  This led to her being chosen to represent Team Canada at the World Skills Americas Competition which was held in San Paulo, Brazil from November 12 – 18.

Eight countries competed in the Restaurant Service category and competitors competed over an intense four day period.

Brittney’s instructor, Kyle Zalluski, from the Manitoba Institute of Culinary Arts at Assiniboine Community College, attended the competition as a Canadian expert and judge of the Restaurant Service Competition.

Congratulations!  We are very proud of your accomplishment!

Great jobs...Great future!
