2017 Model Wind Turbine Competition Results

Skills Canada Manitoba, the Certified Technologists and Technicians Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) and Red River College, hosted the 11th Annual Model Wind Turbine Competition at Red River College on Monday, October 30, 2017 as part of National Trades and Technology Week.
Given a specific set of materials to work with, approximately 60, Grades 9 and 10 students from around the province used their skills and ingenuity to design and construct a working model wind turbine.
Results from the day are as follows:

Highest Voltage Award – Sponsored by Red River College
“Team Miami 2” from Miami High School

Best Construction Award – Sponsored by the Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba
“SPC Barons” from St. Paul’s Collegiate

Best Design Award – Sponsored by Skills Manitoba
“Pinoy Squad” from Sisler High School
