2018 Results – Model Wind Turbine Competition

Skills Canada Manitoba, the Certified Technologists and Technicians Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) and Red River College, hosted the 12th Annual Model Wind Turbine Competition at Red River College on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 as part of National Trades and Technology Week.
Given a specific set of materials to work with, approximately 50, Grades 9 and 10 students from around the province used their skills and ingenuity to design and construct a working model wind turbine.
Results from the day are as follows:

Highest Voltage Award – Sponsored by Red River College

Best Construction Award – Sponsored by the Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba
“SPC Barons” from St. Paul’s Collegiate

Best Design Award – Sponsored by Skills Manitoba
“Team Tec Voc 2” from Tec Voc High School
