What is the Skills Manitoba Competition?

 

The Skills Manitoba Competition is a one day event that provides young Manitobans the opportunity to showcase their talents in an Olympic-style, province wide contest. Students compete in over 40 different hands on trade & technology contests at the secondary and post secondary/apprentice level.  Each contest is designed (and judged) by industry professionals and educators.

The Skills Manitoba Competition will take place at Red RiverCollege.

 

Do you want to tour the Skills Manitoba Competition?

 

Red River College will host free schools tours of the competition sites.

 

Tours will include knowledge challenges and hands-on activities that will encourage students to learn about trades and technology careers in a fun and creative fashion.

Young Women’s Conference

 

What is the Young Women’s Conference?

 

The Young Women’s Conference is a one day conference for young women (in grade 8) to learn about trade and technology careers available in today’s employment market. The conference will highlight different vocations in trades and technology, introduce young women to women mentors working in the trades or technology field and provide employment and career planning information.

 

When is the Young Women’s Conference?

 

The Young Women’s Conference will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010.
