2010 Cardboard Boat Race Results

Skills Canada Manitoba, Red River College, Winnipeg Technical College and Manitoba Apprenticeship Branch sponsored the 5th Annual Cardboard Boat Race at 17th Wing Fitness and Recreation Centre on Wednesday, October 20, 2010.
Armed with cardboard, duct tape and a few other odds and ends, 88 students from around the province had two hours to transform these materials into a vessel for the water. The four person teams then are required to paddle their boats in a competition so the boats had to be quick and capable of carrying their weight.
Results from the day are as follows:

Construction/Design Award – Sponsored by Red River College
Tec Voc High School – “Team on a Boat”

Best Time Award – Sponsored by Manitoba Apprenticeship Branch
Pinawa Secondary School – “The Fugitive Mangoes”

Weight Challenge – Sponsored by Winnipeg Technical College
